The Girls

It has come to my attention that I didn't have any pictures of the girls on here - so here they are.

In the hospital the morning the girls made their grand entrance.

Christmas Decorating Envy

Since we are still here in the cracker-box and because the builder says we will be in by Christmas - I haven't been able/wanted to put up any Christmas decorations and just so you know it is slowly DRIVING ME CRAZY!!!!! I see all the beautiful decor on here and remember how the old house was decorated and I cant stand it!!! I miss not being able to decorate - yet!

Manchild Cooks!!!

Last night after discussing how I was tired of fixing the same stuff all the time for dinner the following conversation occurred:

Me: I guess we will have rice with those pork chops I thawed out this afternoon.

MC: Let me see what I can make.

Me: Thinking - What!?!?!

MC: H and I will run to the store and get some potatoes and stuff - be right back.

(Twenty minutes later they return)

MC: Fix the pork cops like normal and I will work on the sides.

Me: Thinking - Ok!?!?!?

After a little of this (no idea what is on the wall behind MC - it isn't noticeable until apparently you take a picture of the wall?!?!)

We had a potato, bacon, cheese and ranch dressing concoction with our pork chops and salad that was really good. Way to go, Honey.

Take Me Home, Country Roads

Part Two of House Building:
After looking at an empty pasture for three months we finally had progress - albeit small steps but like the saying goes "Rome wasn't built in a day" The following picture is the trench work for the foundation and plumbing pipes.

These pictures are of the workers filling bags of sand and dirt for the foundation. Not sure on the purpose but apparently the concrete can't be poured without them.

Not Me Monday

I DID NOT...throw the magazine H brought to me after his 45 minute nap.

I DID NOT... secretly cuss the general contractor's assistant for being a tool.

I DID NOT...wish I had a nanny so I could get 5 minutes to myself every now and then.

I DID NOT...get mad at my hubby after I worked with the kids everyday on their alphabet just for them to tell a complete stranger at the grocery store that they got "so smart" from their dad.

I DID NOT...think that the blog of a person I read this morning was totally ludicrous.

As you may or may not know we are building a house out in the country that we can call our own. Many people have asked for updates so starting today until it is fully decorated I will give periodic updates for everyone to check out. This first set of pictures is what the land looked like the day we bought it. Hope you enjoy and I look forward to showing you guys the progress.

Busy Day

After driving the 40 miles to the new house for the last three days - I am glad to say that my portion of the painting is done. The Manchild has to go and do the cut in work and the corners, but as for me now all I have left to do for the next little bit is supervise. Today was the first morning I didn't have to load kids , diaper bag, sippys, etc. to drive out there so when H crawled into the bed at 645 am we watched cartoons on noggin. (love that channel - but enough with the reruns!)
When the girls woke up I washed the dishes (no dishwasher in this rental), made sweet tea, homemade lemonade, washed clothes, checked email, checked myspace, and fed the kids lunch. I feel so accomplished! BTW - I cant wait to be able to pack and move for the last time ever!!!! I hate moving - the majority of our stuff has been in storage since July so unpacking will be like Christmas. For those of you in close proximity to Fredericksburg be prepared for the mother of all garage sales in January after we are moved in. I'm am getting rid of everything I don't absolutely love so I can bring in stuff I do. I guess now that the kids are napping Im going to grab some lunch and get caught up on my Young and the Restless.

Potty training, home builders, and stupid washing machines!

I don't know if it is because it is finally Friday or because I know we have a really long weekend of painting the inside of the house starting tomorrow, but every little thing has mad me mad today.

First, we have been trying to potty train H for at least a year and today while washing the dishes a caught a faint whiff of the odor that only means one thing. After checking both girls I realized that it could have only come from the boy. Ahhhhhhh! I don't know what else to do we have tried rewards, punishment, showing him his new undies, everything and nothing is working. I just don't know what to do anymore - I give up - I guess when his sissies make fun of him for going in his pull ups then maybe it will sink in!

Second, this little rent house (cracker box) we live in has a washing machine that must be from 1978. Don't get me wrong I'm am thankful that we have a washer and dryer here and I don't have to drive with the kids to do my laundry but look closely at the controls and you will find only two options for water levels - small and extra large - what happened to medium and large? Ahhhhhhh!




Third, as you may or may not know we are building a new house out in the country. Our builder has known for two weeks that we are going to paint the inside of the house this weekend. I told him on multiple occasions that I wanted him to deliver the trim and doors out there by today so we could paint it while we had everything out there and being used. I talked to him Tuesday and he said he would have it delivered Saturday morning - Great! He called today and said that they (the builder and his assistant) decided that they are just going to install the trim next week and we will just have to paint it in place. Ahhhhhhh!

My New Endevor

I have email, myspace and facebook - why I think I need a blog I will never know. But after reading multiple creative women saying and thinking the same way I am I felt the need to join the party. (I know you arent supposed to start a sentence with but but this is my little piece of cyberspace so I can do what I want!) If a thousand people read it great if not thats ok too - at least I will have somewhere to vent when needed.
